24-Hour Closure of Route 130 (Fairfield Avenue) in Bridgeport for Saturday October 20th, into Sunday, October 21, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 130, Fairfield Avenue, from Commerce Drive to Railroad Avenue eastbound will be closed to traffic beginning 4 a.m. on Saturday, October 20th, until 4 a.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012.
The road closure is required to complete the second of three stages for replacement of the railroad bridge over Fairfield Avenue. The third stage is scheduled to occur in late 2013.
DETOUR INFO- Route 130 will be closed during the following hours:
- 4 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday
Signs will be in place to direct traffic around the closure. Detour routes are:

Cars will use Pine Street, Bostwick Avenue and State Street

Truck traffic will use Pine Street, Wordin Avenue and State Street
A temporary sidewalk will be in place for pedestrian access.
The work is part of a project to overhaul the overhead Catenary wire system and to replace five bridges on the New Haven Rail Line between Bridgeport and Fairfield. The contract was awarded to Ducci Electrical Contractors of Torrington, CT, in April 2007 and the current schedule has the project completed in December 2013.
