The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-84 East and Westbound in Hartford.

The project consists of bridge joint installation on the I-84 East and Westbound Bridge over Market Street and I-91 in Hartford. Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on I-84 Eastbound between Exit 48 (Capitol Avenue) and Exit 53 (Route 44) and on I-84 Westbound between Exit 50 (Route 44) and Exit 48 (Spring Street). This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Thursday, September 13, 2012 through the morning of Tuesday, November 1, 2012.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday evening) and 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday – Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
