The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 2 Eastbound in East Hartford.

The project consists of bridge joint repairs to the Route 2 Bridge over I-84 Eastbound in East Hartford. Motorists can expect lane closures to occur between Exit 3 (Pitkin Street) and Exit 5 (Colt Street). This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Thursday, October 4, 2012 to the morning of Friday, October 19, 2012. 

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday – Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
