Bridge Rehabilitation Work in New Britain on I-84 (West) Exit 35 off-ramp and I-84 (East) on-ramp
from Route 72 West Exit 6
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work Monday, March 19, 2012, for the replacement of bridge bearings on Bridge No. 03313 on I-84 west to Route 72 east (Exit 35), and Bridge No. 03320 on the Route 72 west on-ramp to I-84 east (Exit 6) in New Britain.
The project involves the replacement of bridge bearings, field touch up painting, and miscellaneous repairs to rail and chain link fencing in the towns of Southington, West Hartford, Meriden, Rocky Hill, New Britain, and Willington.

Expect shoulder closures on I-84 and Route 72 Monday – Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
DOT Project No. 0171-0339 was awarded to Abhe & Svoboda, Inc. of Portland, CT on August 18, 2010 at the cost of $1,361,110.00 and is scheduled to be completed on May 31, 2012.
