Daytime Blasting Operation Scheduled along Interstate 95 in the vicinity of Exit 14 and Exit 15 in Norwalk Beginning Tuesday, October 2, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the beginning of daytime blasting operations on October 2, 2012, along the shoulders of I-95 in Norwalk between Exit 14 (Route 1 interchange) and Exit 15 (Route 7 interchange). Traffic stoppages will be occurring between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday, October 2, 2012, to remove rock in area of construction.
The controlled removal of the rock, including some blasting, will take place along both the northbound and southbound sides of I-95 between Taylor Avenue and Route 7.
LANE CLOSURE INFO- Slow moving roadblocks will be used to facilitate the halting of traffic and motorists can expect significant delays in the area.
The first round of rock removal will start on or about Tuesday, October 2, 2012, weather permitting.
During blasting operations, traffic on I-95 in both directions will be halted for 5 to 10 minute intervals two or three times between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Variable message signs will be used to provide advance warning of the operations and to provide information on traffic conditions in the area.
