Local residents and businesses will be provided access and a temporary bridge is also being built to accommodate pedestrian and bicyclists during the bridge closure.
Detour Information
Signs will be posted along the detour route to assist motorists through the area.
Motorists traveling on Cook Avenue will be detoured around the bridge closure using Hanover Avenue, Hanover Road and Hanover Street.
DOT Project No. 0079-0215 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company of Watertown, Connecticut on July 14, 2011, at a cost of $2,274,703.00 and is scheduled to be substantially completed in November 2012, with minor items to be completed during the spring of 2013. The work is being administered by the Office of Construction District 4, Thomaston.
