Flatbush Avenue Between I-84 Ramps and Newfield Avenue in Hartford
will be Closed to Traffic Beginning Monday, May 14, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that beginning Monday, May 14, 2012, a section of Flatbush Avenue between the I-84 Ramps and Newfield Avenue in Hartford will be closed for approximately two weeks for utility relocation work.
The work is part of a project that involves the relocation of Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) water and sewer lines in advance of the construction of the new bridge to carry Flatbush Avenue over Amtrak and the New Britain-Hartford Busway.  
Traffic will be detoured on Newfield Avenue and through the Charter Oak Marketplace. View detour map here.
Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained as well as pedestrian and bicycle access.
DOT Project No. 0063-0669 was awarded to Ludlow Construction Co. of Ludlow, Massachusetts on June 3, 2011 at a cost of $3,860,869.10 and is scheduled to be completed in June 2012.
