Guiderail Upgrade in Durham, Berlin, Wallingford, North Branford, and Meriden
The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Office of Engineering is developing plans for the upgrade of obsolete guiderail on Routes 17, 68, 71 and 71A in the towns of Durham, Berlin, Wallingford, North Branford and Meriden.
The purpose of this project is an ongoing effort by the Department to upgrade guiderail throughout the state on all State Routes. Due to the limited nature of the proposed work, it is not anticipated that an informational meeting or formal public hearing will be held for this project.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in the summer of 2013, with construction anticipated to start in the spring 2014. This project will be undertaken with federal funds.
Anyone interested in receiving information on this project may do so by contacting Mr. James A. Fallon, Manager of Design Services, and (860) 594-2975 or by e-mail at james.fallon@ct.gov . Please make reference to Project No. 0171-0310.
