Milling and Resurfacing Project in Mansfield, Willington, and Ashford on Route 44
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 44 between Route 195 (Storrs Road) in Mansfield and Route 74 (Nott Highway) in Ashford.
The milling portion of the project (bridge decks, bridge transitions, and termini transitions) is scheduled to occur Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27, 2012. Due to anticipated bridge repairs on this route, the roadway paving portion of the project will be delayed for at least one month. An updated press release will be posted with the paving schedule.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Thursday and Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
