Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 63 in Watertown/Middlebury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 63 (Straits Turnpike) in Watertown and Middlebury.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.91 mile segment of Route 63 (Straits Turnpike) from Route 73 (Main Street) in Watertown to Route 64 (Middlebury Road) in Middlebury. This project is scheduled to occur beginning the evening of Thursday, May 31, 2012 to the morning of Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings) and 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Friday evenings). One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained while work is being performed.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
