Nighttime Closure and Detour of the I-91 SB Ramp to Route 34 WB in New Haven is Scheduled to Occur Monday, September 17th, through Friday, September 21, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime closure and detour of the I-91 SB ramp to Route 34 WB in New Haven is scheduled to occur Monday, September 17th, through Friday, September 21st, between the hours of 11 PM and 5 AM. Closure and detour of the ramp is necessary to facilitate roadway improvements.
Motorists traveling I-91 SB will be detoured to I-95 SB and Exit 45 (Ella Grasso Blvd), where they will be directed back onto I-95 NB to Exit 47 (Route 34 WB Flyover Bridge).
All work will occur weather permitting and will be rescheduled if necessary.
The work in Contract E is part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program and includes the reconstruction of the I-95/I-91/Route 34 Interchange. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2016 which finalizes the I-95 Improvement Program and its 7.2 miles of operational, safety and capacity improvements.
