Pavement Preservation Project on Interstate 84 Westbound in the Town of Union
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of a pavement preservation project on Interstate 84 in the westbound direction in the town of Union. The project begins at the Connecticut/Massachusetts state line to Exit 73 (Route 190) and is scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday September 4, 2012.
The project consists of the milling and resurfacing of the three inches of pavement on the roadway, resurfacing of the bridges and new recessed pavement markings, and installation of rumble strips.
DOT Contract 0145-0103 was awarded to Palmer Paving Corporation of Palmer, Massachusetts on July 13, 2012 at a cost of $3,363,773.00 and is scheduled to be completed by October 2012.
