Pavement Preservation Project on Route 9 in the Towns of New Britain, Berlin, Newington and Cromwell starting September 4, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a pavement preservation project on Route 9 in the towns of New Britain, Berlin, Newington and Cromwell will be starting September 4, 2012.
The project consists of the milling and repaving of Route 9 between Interchange 20 (I-91) in Cromwell to Interchange 25 (Ellis Street) in New Britain and begins again at East Street overpass in New Britain three quarter of a mile north of Interchange 28 (Route 72) and ends at Interchange 29 (Route 175) in Newington. The work also includes asphaltic plug bridge joint replacement, drainage structure replacement and epoxy pavement markings.
DOT Project no. 0033-0128 was awarded to Tilcon CT at a cost of $5,088,534.75 on June 29, 2012 and is scheduled to be completed November 23, 2012.
LANE CLOSURE INFO – Lane closures will be allowed on Route 9, including ramps, during the following timeframes:
Monday - Thursday from 9 P.M. to 6 A.M.
Fridays - 9 P.M. to 8 A.M.
Saturdays - 10 P.M. to 9 A.M.
Sundays - 10 P.M. to 6 A.M.
