Project No. 0051-0267 , Pavement Preservation CT Route 4 , Town of Farmington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation's (Department) Office of Engineering is implementing a Pavement Preservation Program for the 2013 construction season.
The purpose of this program is to enhance pavement performance by using cost-effective treatments to extend the service life of the existing pavement surface. A section of CT Route 4 in the Town of Farmington has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans to perform an Ultra-Thin Bonded Hot Mix Asphalt overlay, as well as a milling and filling with Superpave asphalt on a section of CT Route 4 between Monteith Drive and Town Farm Road.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in November, 2012, with construction anticipated to start in Spring, 2013.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development. It is not anticipated that an informational meeting or a formal public hearing will be held for this project due to the limited nature of the proposed work.
