The project involves the construction of a roundabout to improve safety at the intersection of Routes 82 & 85. The location has a high-frequency history of motor vehicle accidents. With the construction of the roundabout a reduction in the number of accidents is anticipated as well as an overall safety improvement at the intersection.
The work will also include improvements to the drainage, installation of a stamped concrete truck apron and islands, new sidewalks, restoration of wetland area as well as the addition of plantings and landscaping throughout the project limits.

Motorists can expect delays Monday through Friday from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.
Special Advisory:
Turning lanes at the intersection will not be available to traffic during the following times
- Memorial Day to Labor Day from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m.
- Labor Day to Memorial Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
DOT Project No. 0120-0086 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. of New Britain, Connecticut at a cost of $3,528,020.11 on March 7, 2012. The project is scheduled to be substantially completed in November 2012. The project’s plantings will begin March 1, 2013 with completion in April 2013.
