Railroad Crossing Repairs on Route 203 in Windham will Require Detour
The railroad crossing repair project will require Route 203 (Windham Center Road) to be closed at the Providence & Worcester railroad crossing for three consecutive days beginning Saturday, August 11, 2012 through Monday, August 13, 2012.
The following detour will be in effect during this timeframe:
- Route 203 Northbound traffic will be diverted north to Route 32, then right over Frog Bridge (SR 661) to Route 66 East, to Route 14, and back onto Route 203.
- Route 203 Southbound traffic will be diverted west onto Route 14, to Route 66 West, then left over Frog Bridge (SR 661), to Route 32 South, and back onto Route 203.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The detour is scheduled to be in place from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday through 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
