Triangle Street over the Metro North Railroad in the Town of Norwalk to be Closed to Traffic
Beginning Monday April 23, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Bridge No. 03851 that carries Triangle Street over the Metro North Railroad between Corporate Driveway at Norden Place and Howard Avenue in the town of Norwalk will be closed to traffic April 23, through November 8, 2012.
The project consists of the replacement of the existing three-span bridge superstructure and piers with a single span superstructure. The work includes removal and replacement of the steel beams, bridge deck, sidewalks and approach areas. A new water main is also being installed on the structure and a temporary water main will be in place during the demolition and replacement stages.
DOT Project no. 0102-0328 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc., at a cost of $2,790,350.00 on January 31, 2012 and is scheduled to be completed on November 8, 2012.
LANE CLOSURE INFO – Triangle Street Bridge closed April 23 through November 8, 2012. A posted detour using Strawberry Hill, Fitch Street, East Avenue, and Winfred Street will be in place during bridge closure. View detour map here.
