Connecticut Department of Transportation Request for Public Comments for Project No. 76-193, Intersection Improvements on I-84 Exit 63 Eastbound on/off Ramps with Route 30 and Route 83 in Manchester, Connecticut
This project was presented at a public informational meeting held on May 17, 2012 at the Lincoln Center, Manchester. The project will require temporarily closing portions of two trails associated with the Hockanum River Linear Park during project construction: the Union Pond Hiking Trail and the Oakland Hiking Trail.
The Department of Transportation intends to request concurrence from the Federal Highway Administration that the impacts to the two trails qualify as De Minimis under CFR 774.5 and Section 4(f) of the US DOT Act.
In compliance with Section 4(f) of USDOT Act and in accordance with CFR 774.5, public notice and an opportunity for public review and comment concerning the effects on the protected activities, features, or attributes of the public recreation property/park must be provided.
