Nighttime Traffic Loop Installation on Route 2 in Norwich; Lane Closures Required

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime traffic loop installation project will be performed on a 2-mile segment of Route 2 in Norwich, September 3-5, 2013.

      The traffic loop installation project will be performed on a 2.00 mile segment of Route 2 in Norwich.  This project is scheduled to occur Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 and Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

      Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 2 between Lafayette St. to the Rt. 12 overlap in Norwich.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (Tuesday and Thursday).

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
