The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that pavement coring operations will be taking place on Route 2 in East Hartford beginning August 12, 2013.  This will be a rolling operation that will require closure of various lanes of the roadway.

      The work is scheduled to take place August 12-15, generally between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The work will affect eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 2 between Exits 2W and 5D.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
