Planned Improvements on CT Route 15 at Interchange 65, Hall Avenue (Route150)
over the Wilbur Cross Parkway (Route 15), Town of Wallingford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation's (Department) Office of Engineering is developing plans to relocate the Route 15 northbound exit 65 on-ramp and to widen River Road and Route 150 in the Town of Wallingford.
The purpose of the project
is to provide safety and traffic operational improvements at this location. The project involves closing the existing Route 15 northbound exit 65 on-ramp
and constructing a conventional at-grade on-ramp immediately east of the northern
bridge parapet carrying Route 150 over Route 15. It will be aligned parallel to and between
Route 15 and Community Lake Park. River Road will be widened to accommodate the addition
of a second northbound lane and Route 150 will be widened to provide additional turn lanes onto the new on-ramp.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in March 2015, with construction anticipated to start in spring 2016. This project will be undertaken with 90 % Federal
and 10 %
State funds.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed
and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development.
A public informational meeting will be conducted upon the completion of the preliminary design. At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing
will be necessary.
