Rehabilitation of Bridge Number 02398, Route 58 over an unnamed Brook in the Town of Redding
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activity has started for the rehabilitation of Bridge Number 02398 that carries Route 58 over an unnamed Brook in the Town of Redding.
The project consists of the installation of a box culvert. Native streambed material shall be placed within the culvert to provide a more natural environment for aquatic life. The proposed structure will be lengthened to accommodate 12-foot travel lanes and 6-foot shoulders. The existing metal beam guide rail shall be replaced with solid concrete parapets and metal bridge rail.
DOT Project No. 0116-0129 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company Incorporated of Watertown, CT at a cost of $639,574.00 on February 27, 2013 and is scheduled to be completed November 2013.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Temporary signalization will be installed and operational first part of May once stage construction is established. Daily closures with alternating one-way traffic will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in preparation for stage construction.
