Rehabilitation of Moosup Pond Road Bridge over I-395 in Plainfield;

Road to be Closed Aug. 7-16

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the temporary closure of Moosup Pond Road between Squaw Rock Road and Green Hollow Road while repairs are made to the Moosup Pond Road bridge over I-395 in Plainfield. The road closure is scheduled August 7-16, 2013.

      The work will include the replacement of a damaged beam, deck repairs, modifications to parapet walls & substructure and raising of the entire bridge structure by 6 inches.

      Work commenced on June 15. This project, DOT Project No. 0107-0178, was awarded to Northern Construction Services, LLC of Weymouth, MA on April 18, 2013 at a cost of $1,587,708 and is currently estimated to be complete by October 30, 2013.

BRIDGE CLOSURE / DETOUR INFO:

      A full closure of Moosup Pond Road (between Green Hollow Road and Squaw Rock Road) will be in place to jack the bridge structure. The closure will be implemented for a maximum of 10 consecutive days from August 7 – August 16, with detour signs to guide motorists along the detour route. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
