Route 1 Southbound in Stratford Closed Overnight, October 22-23, 2013
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the closure and detour of traffic on Southbound US Rt. 1 (East Main Street) and Eastbound Ferry Boulevard in Stratford during the overnight hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday/Wednesday, October 22-23, 2013.
The closure and detour is necessary for the placement of concrete for the new bridge carrying I-95 over southbound US Rt.1 (East Main Street). Traffic will be detoured through The Dock shopping Plaza back to Rt. 110.
This construction is part of the overall Moses Wheeler reconstruction project which also includes new I-95 bridges over the Barnum Ave Cut-off (Route 1 northbound) and Naugatuck Avenue.
DETOUR INFO- Motorists traveling south on Route 1 and east on Ferry Boulevard are advised to follow the posted detour signs and directions of the uniformed traffic control personnel.

DOT Project No. 0138-0221 was awarded to Walsh Construction/PCL JV II of Canton, Mass. on July 8, 2011 with an official start date of August 22, 2011 and an anticipated completion date of August 31, 2016.
