Safety and Sidewalk Improvements on Route 97 in Sprague

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that safety and sidewalk improvements will begin August 5, 2013 on Route 97 in Sprague.  This work will be between Main Street (Baltic Center) and the rail tracks on Route 97.

      The project consists of sidewalk and metal beam rail installation, minor widening, signing and plantings on the north side of route 97 in the vicinity of the Sprague boat launch site on the Shetucket River.

      DOT Project No. 133-95 was awarded to Colonna Masonry Concrete and Asphalt Paving, LLC at a cost of $465,269.80 on July 1, 2013 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2013.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      On Route 97 and All Other Roadways – Contractor may close lanes, with alternating one-way traffic, on Monday thru Friday from 9 am until 3 pm, and from 6 pm until 6 am.  On Saturday and Sunday contractor may close lanes, with alternating one-way traffic, between 6 pm and 6 am.
