Traffic Change for Oakwood Avenue over Interstate 84 in the Town of West Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that temporary signals will be operational on Oakwood Avenue beginning Monday, April 22, 2013. An alternating one way traffic pattern will be in effect to allow for stage construction during rehabilitation of Bridge No. 01757 carrying Oakwood Avenue over Interstate 84 in the Town of West Hartford.
The Project consists of the total replacement of the structural steel beams and girders, bridge deck and parapets. The bridge height will be raised to add clearance over I-84, which in the past has been problematic with trucks hitting the bridge structure.
DOT Project No. 0155-0164 was awarded to Northern Construction Services, LLC of Palmer, MA on October 24, 2012, at a cost of $3,297,972.50 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2014.
