Pavement Preservation Program – Interstate 95 in Darien and Norwalk
The purpose of this program is to enhance pavement performance by using cost-effective treatments to extend the service life of the existing pavement. Interstate 95 in Darien and Norwalk has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans to mill 2.5" of the existing pavement and overlay it with 3" of asphalt on Interstate 95 from interchange 10 (Mile Point 10.67) in Darien to interchange 15 (Mile Point 15.91) in Norwalk.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in October 2014, with
construction anticipated to start in spring 2015. This project will be undertaken with 90% federal and 10 % state funds.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development. It is not anticipated that an informational meeting or a formal public
hearing will be held for this
project due to the limited
nature of the proposed work.
