Rehabilitation of Bridge #3290 and #3291 (Rte. 9 NB & SB over Nedobity Road), Haddam
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work to rehabilitate two bridges on Route 9 over Nedobity Road in the Town of Haddam, beginning March 12, 2014.
The project consists of replacing bridge beam bearings and sole plates, pedestals, construction of new backwalls, concrete repairs on abutments and piers, new elastomeric joints, and deck repairs.
DOT Project No. 0060-152/153 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast Inc. at a cost of $2,436,738.05 on January 14, 2014, and is scheduled to be completed November 22, 2014.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
The contractor may close one lane of through traffic on Route 9 Northbound Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, Saturday 9:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and Sunday 10:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Southbound traffic may be impacted Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 6:00 am, Saturday 4:00 pm to 7:00 am, and Sunday 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
From April 14, 2014 through May 28, 2014 one lane Northbound and South Bound shall be closed continually. A separate press release will be issued prior to closing a lane continuously.
The period beginning on July 1, 2014, until the Tuesday after Labor Day, the contractor may close one lane of through traffic on Route 9 Northbound and Southbound when three lanes are available.
