Capacity & Operational Improvements on Route 69 in the Vicinity of Route 15 , City of New Haven & Town of Woodbridge
The Connecticut Department of Transportation's (Department) Office of Engineering is developing plans to improve capacity and operational deficiencies, as well as pedestrian safety and mobility, on Route 69 in the vicinity of Route 15, Interchange 59, in the City of New Haven and the Town of Woodbridge.
Work is anticipated to include minor widening on Route 69 in both northbound and southbound directions and Route 15 exit ramps to alleviate
delays and queue lengths. In addition, the plans propose to
facilitate pedestrian movement
with the
installation of new sidewalks, ramps and crosswalks along
Route 69, and on Route 69
at Route
63
intersection.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed
in October 2017 , with construction anticipated to start in spring 2018. This project will be undertaken with 80 % federal
and 20 %
state funds.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed
and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important
that the community
share its concerns with us to assist
in the project's development. A public informational meeting will be conducted upon the completion of the preliminary design. At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal
public hearing will be necessary.
