Detour Notice for Nighttime Rehabilitation of Route 5 Bridge over Route 190 in Enfield

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a detour will be in place Monday, August 24, 2015 (rain date August 25, 2015) between 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM for work on the Route 5 Bridge located between Franklin Street and Frew Terrace in the town of Enfield.

      The project consists of removal of a section of the existing steel girder and installation of new steel girder.

      DOT Project No. 0048-0196, was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc., of Avon, CT on April 17, 2015 at a cost of $2,936,030.95 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2015.  The project is being administered by the Office of Construction, District 1 Rocky Hill.

DETOUR INFO

      Route 190 WB will be closed in Enfield between the Route 190 WB off-ramp to Enfield Street and Route 190 WB on-ramp from Pearl Street on Monday, August 24, 2015 (rain date August 25, 2015) from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

      Vehicles traveling on Route 190 WB will be detoured to Route 190 WB off-ramp to Enfield Street (Route 5) to Franklin Street (SR 514) to Pearl Street to the Route 190 WB on-ramp from Pearl Street and merge back onto Route 190 WB.

      Local residents will have access to their residence and also detour signs will be utilized to guide motorists.
