The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that construction activities related to traffic shifts on the I-91 Southbound off-ramp to Route 34 Westbound are expected to cause delays throughout the I-95 New Haven Corridor during the overnight of Wednesday, May 13 into Thursday, May 14, 2015. Please plan ahead and consider alternate routes to get to your destination.

Motorists traveling on I-91 Southbound to Route 34 Westbound should expect a new alignment beginning Thursday, May 14, 2015. For detour information, please visit www.i95newhaven.com. CTDOT encourages safe driving throughout the I-95 New Haven Corridor and asks motorists to follow posted speed limits to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow as construction continues.

These construction activities are necessary to facilitate traffic shifts as work progresses on the Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge, reconstruction of the I-95 / I-91 / Route 34 Interchange and other projects that are part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO- Signs will be posted to assist motorists:

9 PM – 3 AM:
Double right lane closures on I-91 Southbound from Exit 8 (Middletown Avenue) to Exit 1 (Route 34 Westbound), and Single right lane closure on the I-91 Southbound off-ramp to I-95 Southbound.

3 AM – 5 AM:
Triple left lane closures on I-91 Southbound from Exit 6 (Willow Street) to Exit 1 (Route 34 Westbound), and Single left lane closure on the I-91 Southbound off-ramp to I-95 Southbound.

10 PM – 11 PM:
Closure and detour of the I-95 Northbound Exit 47 off-ramp to Route 34 Westbound.

11 PM – 5 AM:
Closure and detour of the I-91 Southbound Exit 1 off-ramp to Route 34 Westbound.

Closure and detour of the Trumbull Street on-ramp to I-91 Southbound.
