Expect Weekend Traffic Impacts Friday, August 7 through Monday, August 10, as Route 34 is Shifted into a Temporary Lane Configuration in New Haven and West Haven
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that activities related to roadway construction are expected to cause delays on Route 34 in the vicinity of the West River Bridge during the weekend of Friday, August 7 through Monday, August 10, 2015.
Route 34 in the vicinity of the West River Bridge will be reduced from a four-lane roadway (two lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound) to a two lane roadway (one lane eastbound and one westbound) both of which will be on the current westbound lanes starting on Friday, August 7 at 8:00 pm through Monday, August 10 at 6:00 am.
CTDOT encourages safe driving through the construction zone and asks motorists to follow posted speed limits to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow as construction continues.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Signs will be posted to assist motorists.
Double lane closure on Route 34 Eastbound from Ella T. Grasso Blvd. to Yale Ave. and traffic for both directions shifted to Route 34 Westbound, 8 pm Friday, August 7th to 6 am Monday August 10th, 2015.
Please plan ahead and consider alternate routes to get to your destination.
In the event of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled to the weekend of Friday, August 14, through Monday, August 17, 2015.
