Interstate 84 Rest Areas in Willington To Be Closed for Repairs
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that renovation work will be performed at the rest areas in Willington along Interstate 84 in both directions. The rest areas will be closed beginning the first week of March 2015 and are expected to reopen in late October 2015.
The project consists of the
renovation of the Eastbound and Westbound Willington Rest Areas located on I-84 in Willington,
Connecticut.
The renovation of two rest area
structures includes interior and exterior improvements with a majority of the
work being completed in the restrooms. The work includes installation of a new
septic system, drainage structures and pavement, and installation of a standby
generator.
DOT Contract # 0160-0143 was awarded
to Mattern Construction Inc. at a cost of $ 2,985,774.50 on January 9, 2015.
The project will start on February 23, 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by
October 25, 2015. The work is being
administered by the Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
