The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the installation of a new water main on Route 4, located between High Street and Mountain Spring Road.  This work will commence on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at 7:00 PM and will have an estimated completion date of July 30, 2015.

The project consists of excavating Route 4, (Farmington Avenue) to install a 12” new water main, between High Street and Mountain Spring Road in the town of Farmington.

Motorists should expect delays on Route 4, one way alternating traffic shall be maintained throughout the work site. This work will be conducted at night between the hours of 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM (Sunday-Thursday evenings). Traffic control will consist of local (Farmington) police and signing patterns. 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
