Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on Route 2 in Colchester

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 2 in Colchester – overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, October 27-28, 2015. Work hours will be 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

      The project consists of bridge maintenance on the Chestnut Hill Road underpass.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect various lane closures on Route 2 between Exits 19 and 21 in the eastbound direction and between Exits 21 and 20 in the westbound direction.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The bridge maintenance and traffic control are being performed by the Department of Transportation. In the case of weather restraints the date will change to Thursday, October 29, 2015 and will be completed by Friday, October 30, 2015.    

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
