Old Saybrook Railroad Station Parking Lot Expansion in the Town of Old Saybrook
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the expansion of the existing parking facilities at the current Old Saybrook Shore Line East Rail station is scheduled to begin.
The project consists of the construction of 199 new parking spaces in Old Saybrook, which includes two electrical vehicle charging stations. Additional lighting and plantings will be constructed. An access ramp to the existing Old Saybrook platform will be constructed and will meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The work includes excavation and grading to accommodate expanded parking and stormwater basins; new access drive; installation of drainage structures; site lighting; pavement; accessible sidewalks and ramps; landscaping and fence along the lot perimeter to delineate private property to the south and railroad property to the north.

The railroad station shall be open during the duration of the construction activities. The current train station parking lot will also be open at all times.

DOT Project No. 0310-0065 was awarded to Dayton Construction Co., Inc. at a cost of $2,423,247 on January 28, 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by November 8, 2015.
