Pavement Preservation on Route 15 in the Town of East Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a pavement preservation project on Route 15 in East Hartford is scheduled to begin on or about Sunday, May 17, 2015.
The project consists of milling 3 inches of existing pavement full-width (from curb to curb) and then repaving with a Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA) on a section of Route 15 between the Charter Oak Bridge and the Interstate 84 interchange for a total distance of 1.20 miles. This project will include milling and paving of the southbound off-ramp and on-ramp for East River Drive, the southbound on-ramp for Silver Lane (State Route 502) and the northbound off-ramp for Silver Lane.
Furthermore, the installation of traffic monitoring stations at various locations and the replacement of some sections of deteriorated precast concrete barrier curb is also included in the scope of the project. The asphaltic plug joints (bridge expansion joints) on the Silver Lane overpass will also be replaced.
DOT Project No. 0042-0320, was awarded to American Industries, Inc. of Jewett City, CT on April 6, 2015 at a cost of $3,250,000.00 and is scheduled to be completed in November, 2015.
