The purpose of this project is to address operation and safety at the intersection of Routes 110 and 111.
The project will consist of removing the existing flashing beacon and constructing a modern roundabout. The proposed work will include converting Hurd Avenue to a cul-de-sac, as well as installing sidewalks throughout the project area. Landscaping and other decorative features will also be included.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in fall 2016, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2017. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $4.1 million, anticipated to be undertaken with 80% Federal funds and 20% State funds.
The public informational meeting is being held to offer an opportunity for the community to review and comment on the proposed roundabout.
The meeting facility is ADA accessible. Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend this meeting and requiring an interpreter must make arrangements by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications at (860) 594-3062 (voice only) at least five working days prior to the meeting. Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to request for assistance.
