Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00507 on S.R. 816 over the Housatonic River in the Towns of Newtown and Southbury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work will be starting for the rehabilitation of Bridge Number 00507 on S.R. 816, Glen Road, over the Housatonic River in the towns of Newtown and Southbury on or about April 7, 2015.
The
project consists of the rehabilitation of the full length of the structure
including replacement of the concrete deck, structural steel repairs to the
truss and floor beams and a complete repainting of the bridge.
DOT
Project No. 0096-0193 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corp., at a cost of $4,474,000.00
on 10/21/14 and is scheduled to be completed in June 2016.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
The contractor will be
allowed to impact traffic between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday
through Friday, and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Saturday and
Sunday.
When temporary signalization
is installed at a later date, an alternating one-way traffic pattern will be
instituted. A press release will be issued prior to implementing the
alternating one-way traffic condition.
The contractor will be
allowed to close S.R. 816 (Glen Road) and detour traffic for a duration of
seven (7) calendar days. The dates of the
detour will be provided thirty (30) days in advance of closure.
Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
