Replacement of Bridge No. 00625 (Route 154 over Candlewood Hill Brook) in the Haddam
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work to replace Bridge No. 00625, Route 154 over Candlewood Hill Brook, in the Town of Haddam.
Road work includes a bituminous concrete overlay at the bridge, full depth roadway reconstruction at the bridge approaches, drainage improvements, completion of sidewalks, installation of metal beam railing, traffic signalization upgrades, and the completion of plantings.
The contract was awarded to Arborio Corporation of Cromwell, Connecticut at a cost of $3,556,443.50 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2016.
LANE CLOSURE AND DETOUR DETAILS:
Alternating one-way traffic, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm on Route 154.
During the first stage of construction, Depot Road at Route 154 will be closed to vehicular traffic. A detour route will be established directing traffic to Calliari Place, then to Parsonage Road and then back to Depot Road. Signage will be in place for the detour which is anticipated to be in place through this calendar year.
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained through the project site during construction.
Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to utilize caution through this and all other construction work zones.
