Replacement of Bridge No. 01023 (Route 57 over West Branch Saugatuck River) in Weston
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that preparatory work for the replacement of bridge number 01023 is expected to begin on or about June 25, 2015.
The project includes the replacement of the existing bridge structure and reconstruction of the approach roadway between June 25 and September 15, 2015. A detour (details below) will be utilized to facilitate construction activities.
DOT Project Nos. 0157-0083 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corporation of Lincolndale, NY at a cost of $2,688,935.90. Construction is scheduled for completion on October 26, 2015.
DETOUR INFO:
Route 57 will be closed at the junction of Route 57 & Route 53 from July 1, 2015 until September 15, 2015.

Motorists will be detoured from Route 57 onto Route 53 (Norfield Road – Cedar Road – Chestnut Hill Road) to Routes 7 & 33 (Danbury Road) to School Street back onto Route 57. There will be no thru trucks from Route 33 to Route 53. Detour signs will be posted.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Please maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zones.
