Sikorsky Airport Improvements - Reopening of the Realigned Route 113
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 113 (Main Street) in the City of Stratford will be reopened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic between Sniffens Lane and Dorne Drive beginning on Friday, May 22, 2015.
The
excavation and removal of all hazardous material identified as “Raymark Waste” has
been completed. Minor utility work will
continue within the existing Route 113 roadway limits. Construction of the new Route 113 roadway
will also continue.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
On Friday, May 22, Route 113 will be fully
opened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Expect daily lane closures during the daytime hours between 9:00 am to
3:00 pm. There will be an occasional
extended lane closure period between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm to
complete sanitary and various water tie-in work.
Motorists should be aware that
modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to
weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to
maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
The second scheduled closure of Route 113 is
anticipated in mid to late July 2015 in order to complete the tie-in of the new
Route 113 alignment.
DOT Project No. 15-336 was awarded to Manafort
Brothers Inc. of Plainville, CT on June 20, 2014 for $17,694,892.21 with an official start
date of July 05, 2014 and an anticipated completion date of April 30, 2016.
