Bridge Maintenance, Route 234 Eastbound and Westbound in North Stonington and on Route 1 Northbound and Southbound in Groton and Old Saybrook.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 234 eastbound and westbound in North Stonington and on Route 1 northbound and southbound in Groton and Old Saybrook.
The project consists of the installation of asphaltic plug joints on Bridges 01797 and 01798 on Route 234 in North Stonington, Bridge 06517 on Route 1 Groton and Bridge 02300 on Route 1 in Old Saybrook. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, August 8th through Friday, August 26th.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect various lane closures on Route 234 eastbound and westbound in North Stonington between Wheeler Road and Flanders Road, on Route 1 northbound and southbound in Groton and Old Saybrook, and on route 1 in Groton between North and South Road and in Old Saybrook between Old Boston Post Road and Ingham Hill Road.
Motorists can expect various lane closures on Route 234 eastbound and westbound in North Stonington between Wheeler Road and Flanders Road, on Route 1 northbound and southbound in Groton and Old Saybrook, and on route 1 in Groton between North and South Road and in Old Saybrook between Old Boston Post Road and Ingham Hill Road.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
