The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work on August 15, 2016, for the replacement of Bridge 02973 (US Route 1 over Pattagansett River) in the Town of East Lyme.

The project consists of a complete bridge structure replacement, drainage improvements, and full-depth roadway reconstruction.

DOT Project No. 0044-0148 was awarded to D & V Morin Construction Co., at a cost of $1,991,519.00 on June 24, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed November 15, 2017.

The contractor will be allowed to maintain alternating one-way traffic controlled by uniformed flaggers:

Staging, including temporary precast concrete barriers and other traffic devices will be utilized during construction. The contractor will also be allowed to maintain alternating one-way traffic controlled by uniformed flaggers or police from the first day of the summer recess for East Lyme schools through Labor Day weekend.
