The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Second Avenue in Danbury will be closed weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM beginning January 20, 2016. A detour will be posted.
The project consists of the widening of the I-84 Eastbound and Westbound Exit 5 off-ramps for and the Exit 6 on and off ramps. Route 37 (North Street and Padanaram Road) will be widened in the area of Exit 6 and traffic signals will be upgraded and/or added at intersections from Balmforth Avenue to the North Street Shopping Center. Also, a new storm drainage system will be installed on Second Avenue. To accommodate this work, Second Avenue will be closed weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM beginning on or about January 20, 2016. The closure and detour is required to install storm drainage pipes in Second Avenue.
