Detour to Begin for Advance Utility Work for Safety Improvement Project on Route 133 in Bridgewater
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 133 will be closed in the Town of Bridgewater beginning September 6, 2016, until September 22, 2016. The closure/detour of route 133 is necessary to facilitate utility work in advance of DOT Project 16-98 which will commence next year.
The utility work consists of the replacement of 3000 feet of conduit and various utility vaults along with the installation of 25,000 feet of new fiber optic cable.

The detour will route traffic along Route 133 to Route 67 through New Milford and follow Route 202/7 south to Route 25 in Brookfield and back to Route 133.

Note: Project 16-98 will include the upgrade of guide railing along Route 133 from the Lake Lillinonah Bridge to Wewaka Brook Road. Approximately 3,000 feet of this section of roadway will be fully reconstructed, the remaining section of roadway will be milled and paved. The roadway drainage will be upgraded throughout the project limits.
