Improvements on I-84 EB Exit 63 Off-Ramp and Improvements to the Intersection of Route 30 and 83 in Manchester
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction on Monday, March 14, 2015. for the improvements to the Exit 63 off-ramp on I-84 EB and intersection realignment with the ramp and Route 30 and Route 83 in Manchester.
The project consists of the replacement of Bridge 05234 over the Hockanum River. It is a two-lane single-span structure on the I-84 Exit 63 off-ramp with a new four lane single-span structure. The replacement will allow for the widening of the exit ramp. Along with the additional lanes being constructed on the exit ramp, new turning lanes are also being added on Route 30 Eastbound and Route 83 Northbound. The majority of the construction will be sequenced so that work is being performed behind temporary barrier.
