Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along I-95 in Bridgeport and Stratford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on about 20 bridges on I-95 in Bridgeport and Stratford, beginning Sunday, July 29, 2016. Hours of operation will be 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Lane closures will be required.
The work consists of bridge maintenance on the bridges listed below:
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00113 over Rt. 127 (East Main Street)
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00114 over Pembroke Street
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00115 over local roads & Yellow Mill Channel
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00118 over Beardsley Street
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00119 over Newfield Avenue
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00120 over Central Avenue
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00121 over Union Avenue
· Bridgeport-Bridge 00122 over Rt. 113 (Hollister Avenue)
· Stratford-Bridge 02573 over Johnsons Creek
· Stratford-Bridge 00123 over Surf Avenue
· Stratford-Bridge 00124 over Stagg Street
· Stratford-Bridge 00125 over Moffit Street
· Stratford-Bridge 00126 over Honeyspot Road
· Stratford-Bridge 00127 over South Avenue
· Stratford-Bridge 00128 over Rt 130 (Stratford Avenue)
· Stratford-Bridge 00129 over West Broad Street
· Stratford-Bridge 00130 over Church Street
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2016 bridge maintenance program and is being supported by Costello Industries.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 NB & SB between Exit 27 SB (Lafayette Blvd.) & Exit 28 NB (Rt. 127, East Main Street). In Bridgeport to Exit 32 SB (Linden Avenue) & Exit 33 NB (Rt. 130) in Stratford.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday evenings).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
