Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along I-95 in East Lyme

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 in East Lyme, beginning Sunday, August 28, 2016.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on I-95 NB and SB, Bridge #00250 (Rt. 161 overpass) and Bridge #00253 (I-395 Southbound overpass) in East Lyme. This project is scheduled to occur from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016 to the morning of Friday, September 16, 2016.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2016 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Costello Industries Inc.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect various lane closures on I-95 NB and SB between Exit 74 and Exit 80 in East Lyme.  There will be no lane closures on Friday, September 2, 2016 through Monday, September 5, 2016 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday evening through Friday morning)    

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
