Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along I-395 in Norwich, Lisbon and Griswold

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will continue on I-395 Northbound & Southbound in Norwich, Lisbon and Griswold through the morning of Friday, October 14, 2016. There will be no work over the Labor Day weekend.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on I-395 Northbound & Southbound in Norwich, Lisbon and Griswold. Work hours on the following two bridges will be 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

• Bridge #00272 – Wawecus Hill Rd. #2 underpass
• Bridge #00290 – Norman Rd. underpass

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2016 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Mohawk Northeast Inc.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect various lane closures on I-395 Northbound between Exit 9 and Exit 24 and on I-395 Southbound between Exit 24 and Exit 9 in Norwich, Lisbon and Griswold.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday evening through Friday morning.    

No lane closures will occur during the Labor Day period (Friday-Monday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
